Artificial Intelligence: The Hero or Villain?

All those were and those weren’t paying attention, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the star player on the field, and is steadily gaining importance when moving ahead in the realm of technology. But is the society prepared to handle the power of technology? Yes, it most certainly makes our lives easier, but once AI is integrated in the market, would it be what we bargained for?

The moment we start speaking about AI, we have two distinct groups, one that believes in AI, and the others who only see the doom it will bring. As AI continues to move towards us, we need to understand if the potential it promises would be worth it.

Here we list down all the possible reasons stating whether AI would work or not.

1.       The bot-callers

Every time we call someone, we are secretly dreading the voice of the automated phone system. AI and machine learning are bringing new methods to eliminate this and finding solutions to reply to callers as humanly as possible. This will take care of both the things enhanced customer experience and delivering value.

2.       Cyber attacks

We all have our concerns about AI in the cyber world, because honestly speaking, these fears are genuine, and because the malware attacks and cyber-attacks are getting smarter by the day they are using AI to combat AI. Organizations need to find solutions that will help tackle AI with AI. Since organizations have no choice but to deploy cyber defence, and cyber security is becoming a growing concern for people.

3.       AI limitation

Many strongly believe that AI will be the one to create an imbalance in the society and only a few massive organizations will have the power to implement it. But they are forgetting one thing, that AI will not eliminate humanity. The more futuristic-realistic scenario is that we would be dependent on AI. Eventually we need AI to perform the jobs that humans won’t.

4.       AI jobs

Yes, AI will eliminate certain jobs, but this change will be good. This will give organizations scope to enhance the work profiles and find ways to automate the basic or mundane tasks to AI. We need to focus on working more with less. AI is inevitable; it is the next natural step towards technology.

5.       Inferiority

For decades now, humans have been the smartest living beings to have existed on the planet. We have ruled the food chain and thus in a way controlled the surroundings around us. AI brings forth intelligence that we haven’t experienced yet. It is natural to think what it will do to us, what would it think about humans, once it become conscious. Artificial Intelligence will one day be the successor of humans.

6.       Humans—re-energizing them

7.       Decision makingDid you know that we have been living with AI for over 70 years now? That’s a long time, and what was once known as AI, may not hold true today. AI is known to exist to make things easier for humans, which makes us more capable to advance quickly in society. What is AI today will be make the live better for another 70 years from now.

AI will bring decision making and skill augmentation to us pretty soon. Instead of diminishing the workforce completely, it will help in letting the workforce participate in work sooner, and it will not require years of training. This will help a lot of people and help in increasing the overall productivity of people.

8.       Improving tools

Believe it or now, AI is here to benefit us. We are already AI to better teach students and get to the information at lightning speed. The industry is taking massive leaps for improving our abilities to build better tools, tools that will help us improve things around us.

AI—the future

Instead of considering AI as the villain, it is time we look at the bigger picture and the benefits and comfort AI would bring for us. AI is the future, a future that we must embrace.
